FIH Partners advised Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners on the acquisition of a portfolio of 27 onshore wind farms under development in Spain (project Teruel) from local renewables developer, Forestalia. The portfolio is expected to have total installed capacity of more than 1GW and is located in Aragón in Northern Spain in close proximity to CIP’s existing 487MW Spanish onshore wind portfolio, Monegros. CIP and Forestalia will cooperate on developing the portfolio towards Financial Close, which is expected in approximately 24 months after which the portfolio will begin construction.
This represents one of the first transactions out of CIP’s latest energy infrastructure fund, Copenhagen Infrastructure IV (CI-IV), which recently announced an intermediate closing at EUR 4 billion and has a target fund size of EUR 5.5 billion.
FIH Partners acted as exclusive financial advisor to CIP on the acquisition of the Teruel portfolio.
