FIH Partners advised Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through Copenhagen Infrastructure III K/S, on the acquisition of 100% of the shares in a construction ready Spanish onshore wind portfolio (project “Monegros”) from Forestalia, a well-established Spanish developer focusing exclusively on renewable energy assets.
Monegros is a Spanish onshore wind portfolio of 374 MW across 2 clusters of projects located in Northern Spain in the fifth largest region by installed MW (Aragón). The portfolio consists of 99 GE wind turbines and is expected to commence commercial operation in H1 2020. Construction is fully managed by CIP as sole owner of Monegros and built through 2-party contracting setup (TSA and BOP) covering all aspects of the construction phase.
The project is expected to be 100% equity financed with an expected total equity investment above EUR 350m.
