Kim Bøttkjær to become Senior Partner in FIH Partners from 1 January 2021

Following more than 35 years in Investment Banking, Kim Bøttkjær, chairman and co-founder of FIH Partners, has decided to step down as a Partner in FIH Partners by the end of 2020 to focus his time and efforts on his activities outside the firm.

During his tenure as Managing Partner initially with Carnegie and subsequently as one of the founders of FIH Partners, Kim has advised on some of the largest and most transformative transactions in Denmark. In recent years, Kim has focused on developing FIH Partners’ activities within renewable energy which in addition to a significant number of transactions have led to a global footprint of FIH Partners within renewable M&A advisory and the establishment of a FIH Partners office in New York.

In connection with his decision to step down Kim says: “It has been a privilege to work with our customers to reshape the markets and environment they work in, and I am proud of the clients we have helped become leaders in their industry. It has also been a pleasure to work with highly talented, skilful and pleasant colleagues. The team has a high degree of integrity, and I will continue to think about the many times we have fought together in good spirit – and won. I am proud of the company we have built together, the values on which it rests, and the quality of the services being delivered to our clients.”

On behalf of FIH Partners, Managing Partner Jørgen Overholt Hansen says: “It has been an inspiration and pleasure to work together with Kim for more than 20 years through ups and downs in the M&A market. During the 90’s Kim took part in establishing M&A advisory as a professional industry in Denmark and since 2006 he has been instrumental in building FIH Partners to the strong position we hold today as an advisor within Danish M&A generally as well as globally within renewable energy. While Kim is stepping down as a full-time Partner, we are very pleased that Kim has agreed to continue his affiliation with FIH Partners in a new role as Senior Partner, where he will continue to support the firm through his network and relations, in particular within renewable energy.

We will host a reception for Kim as soon as COVID-19 restrictions allow for it.
