Superfos is a recognised European market leader in open-top filled injection moulded plastic packaging, serving customers in the food and non-food markets.
The company realised a turnover of EUR 295 million in 2009, the year before the year of signing this transaction.
The acquiror, RPC Group plc, is a leading rigid plastic packaging producer, headquartered in the UK.
The combination of Superfos and RPC Group will result in a combined entity with a turnover exceeding EUR 1.1 billion and more than 7,000 employees.
The divestment was arranged as a structured auction process with potential buyers from Europe, Asia Pacific and the US participating.
